The Philadelphia Society

Our Mission

"To sponsor the interchange of ideas through discussion and writing, in the interest of deepening the intellectual foundation of a free and ordered society, and of broadening the understanding of its basic principles and traditions. In pursuit of this end we shall examine a wide range of issues: economic, political, cultural, religious, and philosophic. We shall seek understanding, not conformity."  Philadelphia Society By-Laws

Speakers and Panels to be Announced Later

To attend, you must be invited by a Member

This meeting is dedicated to the memory of Professor Benjamin Rogge,
Wabash College, and Pierre F. Goodrich, founder of the Liberty Fund.

Ed Feulner's Presidential Essay in 2008
includes a wonderful essay on Ben Rogge and one
of his seminal essays on "The Case for Economic Freedom"

For a quick sample of Ben's vision on education, see his address
to the graduating seniors at Wabash College in 1963.

For a humorous insight into the nature of The Philadelphia Society,
you may listen to Professor Ben Rogge's "First Ten Years",
an address that he gave at the 1974 National Meeting.

Our last Regional Meeting in Indianapolis was held
November 17-18, 1995, The Legacy of Pierre F. Goodrich,
and included Tributes to our Founder, Don Lipsett.
The Presentations from that meeting are now available online.
