JUDAISM AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Harvey Sicherman, President, FPRI

 

In this lecture, Harvey Sicherman will examine a nearly three-thousand-year-old religious tradition for ideas and attitudes on international relations and state conduct that provide a background for contemporary debates. Dr. Sicherman was Special Assistant to Secretary of State Alexander M. Haig, Jr., served on the Policy Planning Staff of Secretary of State James A. Baker III, and was a consultant to Secretary of State George P. Shultz.  He received his Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and is the author of numerous works on U.S. foreign policy.
